Secret Allotment

Hi all!

Haven't seen many of you for a while, but glad the site is still being used! Have had to take off the gallery site as it was a bit of a hog on the web server. Hope no-one minds too much. Have uploaded the images that were there to here:

Exciting news! We now have a gallery page to upload all your digital photos! You should be able to see the Gallery button on the top right of this page. You can also go to http://gallery.secretallotment.co.uk to get to the same place.

The logon is the same as for this site (see email!) but you can also make your own account if you want to. Let me know if you have any problems.

It's time to plant for an early crop in May / June

She must be the most photographed fox in the country! Have been using the blog and remembered that Ed discovered that you can't add an entry using Internet Explorer for some reason that I haven't got to the bottom of yet. In the meantime FireFox works just fine and is actually much better!

Well... its May and I'm Rohen and Ive just taken on Allotment plot number 6. An overgrown allotment plot number 6 but an allotment nevertheless. I've been waiting for this for almost a year and when I got the call from Mike I was overjoyed and finally I thought somewhere to grow veggies and fruit.

I have started slowly to clear the undergrowth and the big loopy brambles and have photos here

I shall add to them as I clear more  but it is amazing what you can do with a pair of secateurs  a pair of garden gloves and some elbow grease

Despite the coldness and greyness of March so far, the occasional sunny day has quietly taken place and the crocii opened up especially for me when I was up there on Sunday.

Whilst having a brain spasm last weekend I managed to delete all the photos of the manure movement mission. This was quite gutting because it was an enjoyable team effort and I had some nice photos of all the animals at the farm, all us plotholders at work and even a glimpse of the allotment vixen.

Anyway, as a record of the good work, here is a photo of the huge steaming mound!
